GARDEN DECOR ,   Obelisks  and  GONGs (CHONGs)

THE GARDEN OBELISK

This all started simply enough when I finished building my wifes' formal veggie garden and she wanted some nice structures upon which her beans could climb.  I made this after modifying some plans she found on the internet.  At the same time, she bought some other type from a catalog, for her flower gardens and we were both quite disappointed with both the materials and quality.  She liked mine so much that she had me make one for her girlfriend, who loved it, and told a friend who loved it and told a friend, etc. etc., so now I am in the garden obelisk business.

This design, using pressure treated woods (modern type has NO ARSENIC), glued joinery and stainless steel nails will last 'till way after the Mayan Calender runs out.  After seeing some similar ones in artsy /craftsy markets for $75,  I would be happy to build you one (or more) for $65 plus shipping. check out the three top options in the photos below.  If you happpen to be in SoConn, we might arrange a reasonable direct delivery. I build these in small batches so please allow 10-14 days for delivery.

THE GARDEN "CHONG"

When I first started to make these, it was obvious that the tone of the industrial gas cylinders was a higher frequency than its size implies.  But, because of the material and consistancy of manufacture, the resulting tones are beautifully clean and pure.  However, because the pitch is too deep to be a chime and too high for a heavy gong,  we will call them "CHONGs".
